Dwayne De Rosario’s passion has carried him off the field into supporting local youth development programs, in the Scarborough community east of Toronto.
Committed to Canadian Youth
Dwayne De Rosario grew up Scarborough as a member of the Metro Housing community. His goal with his Canadian program initiatives is to develop programs to strengthen the lives of children and sustain relationships in the community.
The After School Program
The DeRo Foundations After School Program provides hands on training and a targeted curriculum to help youth develop their skills on and off the field.
In addition, the program offers opportunity for youth to learn and develop coaching skills through volunteering.
Other key learnings include the importance of nutrition and hydration, leadership, teamwork, education, and money management.
Participants receive mentorship from leaders in the sports industry as well as other community leaders.
